BMW Classic arrives in Australia
BMW Group Classic, the arm of the German carmaker devoted to the restoration, preservation, servicing and support of older vehicles that wear the famous BMW badge, has launched in Australia. What started as BMW Group Mobile Tradition in 1994 and was rebranded as BMW Group Classic in 2008 has announced Worthington BMW in New South Wales as the first Australian partner in the factory programme that includes more than 150 BMW dealerships worldwide.
To ensure global standards are met, staff at Worthington BMW have received comprehensive technical training from BMW Group Classic in Munich. Worthington BMW say this investment in training, along with the purchase of specialised workshop equipment to undertake service and maintenance work suitable for classic BMWs, underscores the dealership’s commitment to offer excellence for every restoration project.
“BMW’s heritage, which dates back 108 years, is extremely important to our brand,” said Wolfgang Buechel, CEO of BMW Group Australia.
“With a vibrant community of classic BMW enthusiasts in Australia, including 15 BMW Clubs nationwide that have over 5,000 members, this service will be a one-stop shop for customers who want to restore or maintain their classic BMWs in top condition, ensuring that they continue to enjoy the brand’s Sheer Driving Pleasure.”
To promote their certification as the first local arm of BMW Classic, Worthington BMW (located in Kariong, approx. 7km west of Gosford) are currently displaying eight historic BMW vehicles in their showroom, allowing enthusiasts and customers to get up close and personal with these timeless classics.
BMW Australia plans to expand the availability of BMW Group Classic to other dealerships in their 48-strong national network in the future.
