I have 4 vintage Uniroyal steel belted radials with raised white letters. Size GR70 X 15. The DOT date code is APU5 CX 058 which according to Uniroyal means that they were manufactured in the 5th week of 1978 (could possibly be 1988) but due to the fact that my car has not been registered since 1986 is more likely to be 1978. Tyres are in extremely good condition for the age with excellent tread and no visible cracking or damage to sidewalls. These are the tyres that you need to be period correct if you are restoring a vehicle from this era and you would be very unlikely to find another set of tyres in this good condition.
